Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1-1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla

TOPPING

  • 1/3 sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in medium bowl.
  3. In larger bowl beat butter and sugar until creamy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla, beat until creamy and combine with butter and sugar.
  5. Slowly all dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
  6. Roll cookie dough into balls then in cinnamon and sugar topping.
  7. Place on prepared cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes.
  9. Cookies will be very puffy and soft after removing from the over. While they’re still warm press gently with the back of a spoon to flatten.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
