Ingredients#
- 1 package Italian salad dressing mix
- 1/3 cup tarragon or apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
- 2/3 cup salad or canola oil
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 4 cloves garlic
- 6 drops hot sauce
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
- 2 cans (4 oz each) button mushrooms, drained
- 1 can (6 oz) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
Directions#
- In a tightly sealed jar, shake the salad dressing mix, vinegar and water.
- Add oil, sugar, garlic, hot sauce and shake again to mix.
- Place mushrooms and onions in large bowl, then pour the pickling solution over mixed mushrooms and onions.
- Cover and refrigerate at least overnight.
- Serve with a slotted spoon.
Makes approximately two cups.
