Ingredients
#- 1 bottle Merlot, Zinfandel or Grenache wine
- 2 small orange, or 1 large orange
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 2 tbsp real maple syrup
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 1/4 fresh whole cranberries
Directions
#- If using 2 oranges, slice one into rounds and the other in half. Else slice
the one large orange in half, then slice one half into rounds.
- Place the orange rounds into the bottom of a medium heavy pot and slice in
the juice from the remaining orange.
- Pour the wine into the pot, followed by the brandy. Add the maple syrup,
cinnamon sticks, cloves and cranberries.
- Warm mixture over medium heat until steaming. Once you see tiny bubbles,
reduce heat to low.
- If the wine isn’t spicy enough, continue cooking over low heat for 5 - 10
more minutes.
- Serve in mugs.
