Ingredients#
Casserole#
- 1 loaf challah or brioche bread
- 8 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Topping#
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Directions#
This casserole can be made up to 2 days in advance and kept in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cube bread into 1 inch pieces, then spread in the bottom of a 13x9 baking dish.
- Whisk together remaining casserole ingredients and pour over bread, making sure to everything soaked.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the topping ingredients.
- Spread or layer over the casserole.
- Bake for 50 - 55 minutes until set and the top is golden.
