Ingredients
#Bread
#- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1-1/2 cup apples, diced and peeled
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Topping
#- 5 tbsp cold butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Directions
#- Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Add in eggs, milk and vanilla. Stir to
incorporate.
- Mix in flour, salt and baking powder.
- Fold in apples and nuts.
- Pour into prepared baking pan.
- Combine all topping ingredients and mix with a fork or pastry mixer until
crumbly and sprinkle over batter in pan.
- Bake for 55 - 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes in loaf pan before turning out onto a cooling rack.
