Ingredients
#- 8-10 slices soft bread with the crust removed and cubed
- 1/2 lbs sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp salt
- dry mustard
Directions
#- In a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish, alternate layers of bread and cheese.
- Beat eggs, milk, salt and a pinch of dry mustard, then pour over bread and cheese.
- Let stand in refrigerator several hours or overnight.
- Return to room temperature and bake at 350 F for 45 minutes in a p an of
water like a custard.
- Melted butter may be poured over top before baking, if desired.
